Funding for Indigenous students

Indigenous students have access to many sources of financial support.  We encourage all SAIT Indigenous students to explore these financial assistance opportunities available from the government, the community and private organizations that offer bursaries, scholarships and other awards specifically for Indigenous students.

Immigrant Access Fund

The Immigrant Access Fund (IAF), assists immigrants and refugees that have professional skills and knowledge from their country of origin, but are facing barriers to employment in Canada in their field. IAF provides micro loans of up to $10,000 to internationally trained immigrants so they can obtain the Canadian licensing or training they need to work in their field. The loan can pay for exams, training, qualification assessments, professional association fees, books and course materials, living allowance and other expenses related to obtaining the Canadian licensing or training they need.

Canadian Forces Subsidized Education Plan

The Canadian Forces Subsidized Education Plan for non-commissioned members will cover your education and training costs in eligible SAIT programs. You'll receive a salary, vacation, and medical and dental benefits while going to school.  For more information please visit forces.gc.ca.

Student awards from outside of SAIT

In addition to SAIT Student Awards, there are several external awards, scholarships and bursaries offered by the government and private companies for which SAIT students may be eligible.
