Whether you're seeking support for your academic or career success, are dealing with unexpected concerns or need tools to combat stress, our counsellors are ready to help.
When can I see a counsellor?
SAIT's counsellors are available by appointment from 8:30 am to 4:15 pm., Monday to Friday in AA205, Heritage Hall. Drop-in times are also available daily. Evening appointments are open one night a week from October to May. Call to make an appointment at 403.284.7023 or simply come by the office.
How much does counselling cost?
There is no cost for current SAIT students.
What will happen at my first appointment?
The first time you visit, you'll want to arrive about 10 minutes early so you can fill out an intake form and go over our confidentiality information before you meet your counsellor.
What if I can't make it to my scheduled appointment?
We understand schedules change and conflicts can come up. If you need to reschedule or cancel your appointment, please let us know as soon as you can so we can make that time available to another student.
Who will know I went for counselling?
Your visit is completely confidential and no information will be released about it unless you allow it or it's required by law or professional guidelines. Our counsellors are available to answer any questions or concerns you may have about confidentiality.
What if I need help after-hours?
If it's not urgent, you can leave a voicemail at 403.284.7023 and we will call you back on the next business day.
If you are experiencing a crisis and need to speak to someone outside regular hours, you can contact the Distress Centre and the mobile response team at 403.266.4357 (HELP), or SAIT Security's emergency line at 403.284.8000.
