Your classes have officially begun — it's time to get ready, get set and get involved. First8 is a series of events during your first eight weeks at SAIT designed to help you succeed. Discover the services available to you and connect with your new SAIT community.
Weeks 1 and 2: Jan. 2 - 12
There's a lot to do and discover at SAIT. Your first stop is orientation — meet your instructors and classmates, find your way around and get yourself organized.
Then, kick off your first week of classes at the first Wellness Wednesday of 2018 (free lunch!) and the SAITSA Carnival, planned by your students' association.
Weeks 3 and 4: Jan. 15 - 26
Starting to settle in? Now's the time to check in with yourself and make sure to take care of your physical and mental well-being. Join an open drum circle, check out Make Some Noise for Mental Health, try a free drop-in recreation class and more.
Sign up for our success seminars — improve your studying and learning skills, learn about scholarships and bursaries, and how to stress less. Short on time? We've got you — between classes you can drop by one of our learner success booths across campus to speak with an advisor.
Weeks 5 and 6: Jan. 29 - Feb. 9
Start your network — connect with your instructors and peers. The best way to start? Get involved. Join one of over 80 clubs and check out available co-curricular activities, they're recognized for your Co-Curricular Record making you more employable after graduation.
Weeks 7 and 8: Feb. 12 - 23
You're a part of the SAIT community — a group of diverse individuals. Check out the Sexual Awareness Expo, join us for the Rainbow Reception and learn how to raise a (mini) Tipi with Chinook Lodge. And, don't forget about reading week!
